Structure of Examination

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Mh Cet Exam

The examination is conducted in online and offline mode at various centers. It is also conducted online outside Maharashtra. It is tentatively in the 2nd week of May 2021 for the PCM and PCB groups separately. The questions are based on the Syllabus of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. 20% weightage is given to the syllabus of the 11th class, while 80% weightage is given to the syllabus of the 12th class. For the PCM group, the paper is divided into three sections Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. You are allotted 90 minutes for the Physic -Chemistry slot and after its completion mathematics slot is enabled for another 90 minutes. For the PCB group, the paper is divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Zoology sections. Similarly, the Physics-Chemistry slot is enabled for 90 minutes and after it, the completion biology slot will be enabled for another 90 minutes. So the duration of the paper is around 180 minutes. The questions are MCQ type and there is no negative marking.

Eligibility for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) Exam

All aspirants who have passed the HSC examination and are of Indian Nationality are eligible to apply for this examination. There is no age limit for appearing for this Entrance test.

Types of Candidature:

Candidates can claim only one type of Maharashtra state candidature that is from A to E. Eligibility Criterion for different Types of candidature are:

Type-A: Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State. And the candidate is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/ or is born in Maharashtra.

Type-B: A candidate who does not fall in Type-A, but whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses a Domicile Certificate.

Type-C: A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

Type-D:A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B, and Type-C categories but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking

Type-E: Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

ENTRANCE EXAM QUESTIONS

All India Candidature: Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible.

Minority Candidature: The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from the State of Maharashtra

Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries, Foreign National: They are exempted from appearing.

Jammu and Kashmir Candidature: The children displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border areas of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities. The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category. The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS), or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces who are transferred to Jammu and Kashmir.

Candidature With Disability: They can reserve seats in the PWD category.

  • Type- P: Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb)
  • Type- P2: Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic
  • Type -P3: Provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) Exam Application

The MHT-CET application form is filled in online mode. The candidate should log in to the website to fill the online application form.

  • First, you need to do registration by creating a username and password.
  • Go in My Application and then fill the application form.
  • Then upload photograph and signature. The file size of the photograph should be between 15 KB to 50 KB and the Signature should be between 5KB to 20 KB per file. All Candidates have to upload their Photograph and Signature in “.jpg” format only and the file name of the Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpg and sign.jpg respectively.
  • Payment of fees is done online. For PCM or PCB in General Category, candidates have to pay Rs.800/- and Reserve Category candidate from the State of Maharashtra have to pay Rs.600/-. If the candidate opted for both the groups i.e. PCM and PCB for General Category, the candidate will have to pay Rs.1600/- and the Reserve Category candidate from the State of Maharashtra will have to pay Rs.1200/-.
