Hello There! It appears that you have chosen the wrong category of Food processing for your query, however I am glad that I came across this query and would be happy answer it. I am also glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarifications for your query. Your query is definitely good and apt.

Your query has already been excellently answered by Mr. Rahul Shinde, but would like to add some more information about another career option which is available and being demanded in building and construction industry.

Building and Construction as you may know is very 'labour intensive' industry. Without labour this industry cannot function to the fullest, however there are advanced technologies coming in to reduce the dependence on human manpower force, especially for risky work like working on heights, working with sharp objects, etc. Buiding and Construction industry generally requires Civil Engineers majorly and also Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.

Today this industry is getting very professional and organised which was not the case before. Young talent and technology coming in has also made this industry grow at a faster rate. However this industry today faces huge talent shortage in construction and project management area. And this is the area which is another career option for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers wishing to work in construction industry.

Gone are the days when construction job profile was full of stanind under the sun for hours, amongst material and labour. Today the construction and for that matter infrastructure industry has matured and requires people with skills in business project management and construction management. This management is not a general type of management which a general MBA qualified person can do, but it is a very specialised type of work to be done.

Construction and Project Management involves lots of office activities to be done sitting at office as a back end. Today there is no shortage of technical competence or technically qualified and experience people, but of learned project and construction management professionals who are able to 'manage' the activities in order to get the concerned project completed within time, money and labour and with superior quality.

Therefore as a good career option today Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers should do courses in Construction and Project Management and get specialised in this for acheiving greater career heights along with good salary packages.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has already stepped into train people for this, but there are private educational institutes like Samvit School of Infrastructure Business based in Pune who are training fresh engineers as well as experienced people for this sector and industry.

Best Luck.
