Ivy league is the term, we as student have definitely come across at least ones in our lives. We as students often use this term as a phrase to describe someone academically elite by mentioning him or comparing him to the level of the ivy leagues.
Therefore at the end of the day, its not something common, its something definitely over the top. As we have already come across the common saying that only the top layer of the cream can get a seat in the ivy league.
With commendable educational skills and burning passion, beaming patience and strong determination it can be possible to even dream about getting a chance in one of the ivy league colleges out there. But as a very commonly used term it becomes quite necessary for us to even know about the whole process and the members present. So the ivy league is the elite group of five world famous and excellent universities which have been continuously getting the highest ranks in the global list of the universities every year.
Coming to the individual ivy league schools, one of them is the Yale university. Located in New Haven, Connecticut, it has one of the toughest acceptance rates out there. The acceptance rate is estimated to be 7% and the SAT score range is between 1460-1580. Therefore it is really hard to get in. It is a liberal arts college and is famous for its history department.
Pennsylvania university on the other hand is in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia has an acceptance rate of 9% with a required SAT score ranging from 1420-1560. The renowned departments are economics, finance and business.
Harvard university, probably the most popular is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It has an acceptance rate of 5% with a required SAT score of 1460-1590. The renowned department is that of political science.
Dartmouth college is in Hanover, New Hampshire. It has an acceptance rate of 10% with a SAT count of 1430-1560.
Princeton university is located in Princeton, New Jersey. The acceptance rate is again pretty tough, it is 6% and the required SAT score is 1430-1570. The renowned departments are public policy analysis and economics.

Columbia university is located in New York. The acceptance rate is nearly 7% with the required SAT score range being 1410-1570. The renowned departments are English and philosophy.
Brown University is located in Providence, Rhode Island. It has an acceptance rate of 6% and the SAT range is 1430-1570.
Cornell University lastly is located in Ithaca, New York. The acceptance rate is 13% and the SAT range is 1390-1550. This is renowned for its departments of agricultural science, architecture and biology.

Therefore these were all the 8 ivy league colleges which still touch the heights of success, although there are other commendable colleges, but the number of ivy league is always 8.
